A Community AffairMeet the Board
The Crescent Community Club (CCC) has been an active participant in the Crescent/Gilchrist Community since 1956. The Crescent Community Club is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, and look to membership for part of our support. To all of you who have supported the CCC thru the years, we “THANK YOU” from the bottom of our Hearts. With your support, we have been able to keep the CCC a great place for Family Gatherings, Community Fund Raisers, and a Social Center for the Community.
It’s been quite the year and a half! Many of our members and volunteers are busy during the summer. With fire season in full swing, some of our board members are involved with that, thus creating a shortage of helping hands for rentals and events.
Most rentals and events are not time consuming or strenuous but we are at a point where we need more than a couple sets of hands to pull them off. We really would like to see the club grow and utilize the facilities and new outdoor spaces but at this moment, we are very stretched in what we are able to do.
We are planning on having a member/open to public meeting before Labor Day and catch everyone up on what has happened in the past year and a half. We want to discuss how we can move forward with the Crescent Community Club.
Once a meeting date is set, I will be sure to let you all know. It would be great to have as many members there as possible.
On a side note, Cathy Foran, from the LaPine Lions Club, is looking for volunteers to help with the Cascade Lakes relay July 30-31. I pasted her email below. If you would like to help, her contact information is at the bottom of her email.
Subject: Cascade Lakes Relay
Good morning! Cathy Foran from La Pine Lions Club here.
Now that events are starting to open up again our communities will see teams of runners and their support staff racing through our areas July 30-31.
This year over 150 teams are expected with an overnight stay planned in La Pine. In order to accommodate this many folks we need many volunteers and we are asking for your help.
It takes a village, as you know. We need help in all areas, and as most of this event takes place in the late night/early morning hours it is even more of a challenge to find volunteers.
We have positions available in our food concession trailer, cashier. water,/ coffee stations, exchange race officials, parking lot assistants, and more.
If anyone in your group, or friends, family and neighbors could help it would be greatly appreciated!
We will do our best to accommodate volunteers abilities and preferences.
Contact me for further details and to sign up. Leave a message and I will call back immediately.
(We would be willing to share the proceeds if we can get enough support from your group).
